Cons. . . when health insurance companies stock rises on news of Brown’s win. . . . what does that tell you?
Could that mean that the insurance companies benefit from healthcare not passing???
How do you like that you are on the same side as the heartless insurance companies???
March 2nd, 2010 at 4:59 pm
(APPLAUSE!!!!)
Great point there my friend. I want a count of how many Republicans die because they couldn’t afford health care costs if this doesn’t pass.
March 2nd, 2010 at 5:22 pm
like it just fine … much better than the heartless, limitless gov’t pile of crap
March 2nd, 2010 at 5:34 pm
It tells me investors are more certain that a company can provide services and return a profit to the investors. Uncertainty is not the friend of business.
March 2nd, 2010 at 6:01 pm
The insurance companies would benefit even more if that bill passes. Your own John Edwards told you that and you didn’t listen.
Your Democrats have lost two pretty major elections in as many months and you’re not listening to that either.
You’re going to continue to ignore the signs until your party is completely in the crapper, and I’m all for that anyway.
March 2nd, 2010 at 6:42 pm
agreed…great point
March 2nd, 2010 at 7:34 pm
USA…where health is a market!…..
March 2nd, 2010 at 8:16 pm
Are you kidding me?
Cons love big businesses. They love them like they love their sister.
March 2nd, 2010 at 8:18 pm
I haven’t heard that yet but I know stocks also rose when they thought it would pass so maybe the stock prices don’t mean as much as we think.
March 2nd, 2010 at 8:48 pm
Good point but republicans are either too greedy to see this or they are of the gullible hillbilly type.
March 2nd, 2010 at 9:31 pm
It means that we the people who own the health insurance companies in our countless retirements funds are far less afraid of the insurance industry being nationalized.
March 2nd, 2010 at 10:07 pm
That tells me Baker will kick Devall’s butt.
March 2nd, 2010 at 10:39 pm
Blah, blah, blah.
This victory tells me people with a brain are tired of having something shoved at them. This is only the beginning.
March 2nd, 2010 at 11:23 pm
You have no clue.
March 2nd, 2010 at 11:46 pm
That this country is going back to business. I am buying some Blue cross stock right now.
March 2nd, 2010 at 11:52 pm
Friend… business… we are in a capitalistic nation, not socialistic. Don’t buy insurance if you don’t like it. Should the government buy everything for everyone? Go to Canada, Europe if you want the “free” medical care and better situation in your mind.
March 3rd, 2010 at 12:05 am
No.
It means that people believe that the government will not have the power to impose taxes on Health Insurance, so there will be a bigger profit margin…
Simple economics…. Use your brain, and not your emotions when you evaluate something.

Health care industry makes no money compared to energy, but it is apparent that Obama is terrified of big oil so he targets an industries that makes under 7 percent profits on average.

It tells us,PEOPLE DO NOT TRUST HUSSEIN ANYMORE!!!!!!!!! Get used to it,LIVE WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!
March 3rd, 2010 at 1:08 am
When the entire stock market rise on news of Browns victory what will that tell you.
Democrats have a choice, abandon Obama’s far left agenda or lose the midterm election in just 9 months.
Over 50% of Americans do not want this health care bill compared to 30% that support it.
What’s complicated about that?
March 3rd, 2010 at 1:43 am
And you are on the side of the heartless Government that doesn’t care about you, but to only grab more control.
March 3rd, 2010 at 1:47 am
it tells me that hundreds of thousands of jobs are safe, so that people can continue to pay for their own private insurance without Liberals in government taking away their choices.
you Libs are all about ‘choice’, aren’t you?
March 3rd, 2010 at 1:58 am
When Coakley meets behind closed doors with Big Pharma, AND LOSES, what does that tell you?
March 3rd, 2010 at 2:07 am
Did you notice how Pharmaceutical stocks have been on a steady rise since the White House struck a backroom deal in the spring of 09 to protect their profits (assuming the bill passed)??
Also, Dems were trying REALLY hard to prove to corporate America that a “reform” (lol) of the healthcare system would be more profitable than the status quo. They did this by keeping the individual mandate to buy private insurance while dropping the public option (that until then was sold in tandem with the mandate).
If Republicans were corporate whores during the Bush years, then Democrats are corporate whores of the Obama years.
On scale of 1 to 10: How badly did Dems sell out to corporate lobbying interests with this helathcare bill?

It means we all benefit by not being under oppressive government control.
March 3rd, 2010 at 2:52 am
If Obamacare passes……. everyone loses
People receive massive cuts in approved medical procedures and services
Insurance companies scramble to review and deny more claims to compensate for the increased number of patients
Some Doctors refuse to accept any health insurance accepting only cash/credit cards for their services & other Doctors use cost saving measures cutting down on the quality or care rendered or begin to defraud the insurance companies by billing for medical services that they do not actually render
The real world tells you that government health care, which is what Obamacare really is, is a lose/lose situation
March 3rd, 2010 at 3:06 am
Yes the official view is that the markets did rise in the anticipation of the republican win to protect drug and insurance company profits.
The Americans who are so gleefully happy this evening about this reform hitting the rocks once more, probably don’t understand any of what this means, they only know what Fox has been telling ( brainwashing ) them with all these months.
The unfortunate reality is now that we are virtually back to square one, if the Republicans were to get back in office tomorrow they would do about health care as they have done before, which is nothing!
We had an opportunity to get something changed in health care, to get reform going one way or another, to break this current inhuman system that is based on profit only, but I think that this very misinformed corrupt country is going to have to keep on being blissfully ignorant for some time longer, the 45000 people who die every year due to no insurance, being refused insurance will keep on dying, medical debt will still be the biggest cause of bankruptcy, the drug companies will still charge the US ten times more than any country in the world for the same drugs because they can!
The opposition by the drug and insurance companies has been a natural one, however insidiously nasty and devious you think they are ( and they are ) they are a business, the Republicans on the other hand have opposed on defiance anything the Democrats came up with, they have also shamlessly stood by while Fox news spewed out such utter garbage, it really makes you wonder how much power Rupert Murdoch has over the GOP!!!
All will be revealed in time I am sure!
