Why are people burning their houses down for insurance money??
It is all over the news, the insurance companies are already onto these people who do this, yet they still keep trying to burn their houses down. I live in a new community. And in the last year, 6 houses have burned down due to fraud, and two more since this past friday? What is wrong with people and why do they think they can still get away with this?
No. . Sorry. . California!

Well, a lot of people are burning their homes because they are about to go into foreclosure and would rather loose their home, and gain the insurance money than to completely loose their homes and have that on their credit. That is what I saw on the news, I keep up with this stuff pretty well, so I do think that is what you are talking about.

Our economy sucks! No thanks to Bush!! People can’t make house payments so burn it down & hope to pay most of it off with the insurance $$. This is what my insurance friend says.

Why not try? if it works, they get out of everything, if it doesn’t, no big deal. (a couple years in prison or probation)

WOW, hasn’t hit national news OR I just have not watched much national news! ! !
The housing crunch is not too bad in East Tennessee. We didn’t have lenders giving creative loans and our houses were not as inflated. I would guess house prices have only dropped less than 10% in my area.
CA must be one of the toughest hit areas????
