Honda Accord most stolen car in South Carolina, USA
The practice Honda Accord was the most stolen vehicle in South Carolina and the country last year, according to a report issued the insurance industry on Tuesday.
Honda is still very popular among thieves because their parts are interchangeable between many models of the automaker, said Frank Scafidi, spokesman for the National Insurance Crime Bureau, which published the report.
But car thefts fell 23 percent in the state compared to 2008 and fell by 17 percent nationwide, according to the FBI. These were the biggest declines in recent decades, the group supported the insurance industry said.
Improved technology theft of vehicles approached implementation of the law and best practices of drivers are driving down rates of theft, “The cars are harder to steal than they were five or 10 years ago,” said Scafidi.
Myrtle Beach remained the capital of car thefts in the per-100, 000 basis of population, which reached número21 nationwide last year, the insurance group said. Columbia was second in South Carolina and highest occupied most of 47 in the nation.
