Dow Jones Closed Lower
The Dow Jones closed lower finally. But the two main indexes United States (U.S.) Other, S & P and Nasdaq looks strong. As quoted by Reuters, market participants looked back optimistically after earlier pessimism blanketing trade due to higher interest rates in China are surprised over the weekend. On a quiet day, with no major economic data or corporate news, trading volume will be lower than normal. The financial sector looks strong rise pushed shares of American International Group. This sector supports the strengthening of the S & P 500 after previously weakened.
“The market is moving quite flat but end up better than our lows. And even though investors seemed not returned to the market, the market keeps moving higher,” said technical analyst at Schaeffer’s Investment Research Ryan Detrick, in Cincinnati, Ohio. “Today is an exception, but this week is usually considered a really Santa Claus. And we expect the stock market will continue this weekend and an even stronger at the end of the year,” he added. At the close of trading on Monday (12/27/2010), Dow Jones fell 20.73 points, or 0.18 percent, to 11552.76. Standard & Poor’s rose 0.74 points, or 0.06 percent, to 1257.51. The Nasdaq Composite Index also rose 4.25 points, or 0.16 percent to 2669.85.
