Receive Free Medical Insurance to over 300,000 Chinese Children
These are more than 300,000 Chinese children, including 120,000 orphans; receive free health insurance for the treatment of 12 critical illnesses, such as a joint program between the government and a charitable organization expands. The 12 conditions are malignant tumors (including leukemia), organ and bone marrow transplantation, acute renal failure, aplastic anemia, benign brain tumors, acute hepatitis, effects of cerebritis or meningitis, infantile paralysis, severe juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, severe Kawasaki disease, Myasthenia Gravis and insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
The foundation will distribute insurance cards to the children through local civil affairs departments. We plan to expand coverage to all 360 million children in China. Orphans and children from poor families are our highest priority. An overview of the Ministry of Civil Affairs in 2005 said China has about 573,000 orphans less than 18 years. There are about less than half of all Chinese children are covered by commercial health insurance or social welfare, according to the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF). Even among those who can not afford expensive treatments for diseases like leukemia. Insurance is something that can be bought before disaster occurs. Imagine a donation of just € 8, a child’s life changing. We hope more people here to help the children.
