Women Drivers Face Higher Insurance
Here are so many case of female drivers face rocketing insurance costs due to EU rules sex discrimination. European judges will decide tomorrow if the charge women lower premiums than men equal rules violations. If they do not rule, women under 26 are likely to rise by around 25%. But men will see insurance rates drop by about 10%, according to the Association of British Insurers. Women aged between 17 and 25 would pay on average £ 4,300 extra over the eight years, campaign-partners think tank Open Europe warning.
In a worst case scenario, the cost can be as much as £ 9,300 more over that period, they claim. But now a senior law officer at the European Court of Justice has advised judge’s gender rules breach “higher” equality provisions in the Treaty of Lisbon. If they agree, means that insurers are no longer able to offer different prices – and it would also impact on private health insurance and pensions. That these judges would be a magic rule that girls should pay more in the name of equality is simply perverse. Instead of making the rates more equitable between men and women, this ruling would increase costs to consumers as a whole.
