Calif. Bill Proposes Disclosure of Insurance Information
California legislators are considering a particular policy to be consolidated into one document and printed in smaller letters. Currently, the law requires insurance entities after receiving notice of claim, but not more than 15 calendar days receipt and insured with legible reproduction of certain Insurance Code section.
SB 596 requires written notice of the contents of the modified in a 10-point type. The bill that required insurance company provides a copy of Insurance Code at the request orally or in writing to the consumer. This bill also allows the California Residential Property Insurance Disclosure and the California Residential Property Insurance Bill of Rights to put in the same document. Then bill would consolidate the notification from the California Earthquake Authority Coverage.
Law prohibits residential property insurance policy from a given, unless the consumer provided a copy of California Registered Residential Property Insurance Disclosure. This is according to the law establishing the contents of the California Residential Property Insurance Bill of Rights.
Mark Sektnan as president of the Association of California Insurance Companies said that all notices required to be consolidated with this bill that just goes into one envelope. This bill will reduce the workload of U.S. Postal Service, but reduce the amount of paper used. This is a green bill that will benefit all of California. “
