Chase Will Open 21 New Branches Over The Next Two Years
Over the next two years JP Morgan Chase will open 21 new branches (10-15 branches in 2012 and The six branches in the Portland metropolitan area this year) in the Portland-Vancouver market that includes the hiring of as many as 500 new employees. The bank guess the expansion will cost $30 million to $40 million. 250 positions the bank has filled over the last 18 months. Each branch will employ 8-12 people that means as many as 252 new hires.
Lindley told “It’s a real commitment by the organization to Oregon and the Portland area, It’s a significant capital investment.”
Another Chase priority is not a priority of the home mortgage-centric WaMu but to building its business lending.
Chase loaned $108 million to 3,300 Oregon small businesses In 2010 it’s mean 66 percent increase from 2009. Chase which along with Wells currently boasts 76 branches in the Portland-Vancouver market is among the strongest of the nation’s banking giants.
In the former WaMu branch network, Chase first opened for business. When Chase formed it founded plenty of customer anxiety caused by WaMu’s decease. Lindley who is a former WaMu manager who lived through the chaos of 2008 said that the stigma has steadily decreased with the passage of time.
