Fidem Life is the new name of Fortis Life Insurance
At a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday, the company’s board chairman Gijs Jeuken said that Kyiv-based Fortis Life Insurance has announced the start of its rebranding through its being turned into Fidem Life. He added that the new name of the company is Fidem Life comes from the Latin word fidem, that means “confidence. ” He also added that the renaming of the company was concerned with acquisition by Finland’s Horizon Capital Investment Company.
According Jeuken that Fidem Life purposes to become a leading player on the life insurance market in Ukraine in the near future by 2014 occupy a 15% share of the market. Beside that the further development of own agent chain, the optimization of sales through intermediaries and improving the corporate sales share of its portfolio are the other tasks of the company.
Therefore, it is planned to bring sales through bank insurance to the pre-crisis level because to take into account the approaching launch of pension reform in Ukraine. Fidem Life is setting the goal of giving new investment and pension programs, introduce IT processes (including an internal Web portal and GRM systems) and raise the quality of client servicing.
Life Insurance was the main business of Fortis Life Insurance Ukraine. And then the company was section of the Fortis Holding (Fortis Insurance International) group before September 16, 2010.
