Loan Guarantees for Ivanpah
On April 18 The U.S. Department of Energy announced that to fund the construction and start-up of the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System managed by the Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management in San Bernardino County, California. A 370 megawatt solar power facility to be built on 3,471 acres The property is about 40 miles southwest of Las Vegas. Ivanpah is three power plants, Each plant will consists of fields of heliostats focusing solar energy on boilers located on centralized power towers. Ivanpah 1 will generate 120 MW, and Ivanpah 2 and 3 will each generate 125 MW. live steam from the power tower boiler for the generation of electricity received by A steam turbine in each of the three plants.
On August 6, 2010 EPA published a final EIS. Environmental concerns were resolved when it published. Appendix 1 of the Record of Decision for the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System Project and Associated Amendment to the California Desert Conservation Area Plan comments received on the final EIS. They are Solar Partners VIII, LLC; Solar Partners II, LLC; and Solar Partners I, LLC.
