Health Program in Massachusetts is Less Going Well
BOSTON – A new study shows that almost everyone in Massachusetts has health insurance in accordance with state programs, but many doctors do not receive subsidized insurance program for the poor. Alice Coombs as president of the Massachusetts Medical Society said that insurance coverage is not equal access to care.
Five years ago, Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has introduced the health program. Conservatives due to his support for the state plan have criticized Romney, although he has said that it designed to Massachusetts and it would not work as the national plan. Coombs also says that although it was a case, Massachusetts has made tremendous job with health. Coombs added that it was a success patient because they had seen the doctor in recent years, but the physician workforce has filtered.
Many primary care physicians do not receive Mass Health, the state version of Medicaid, and less receive Commonwealth Care and Commonwealth Choice. A state program aimed at middle-and low-income residents. Some of primary care practices did not take over new patients, especially patients that treatment paid at a lower level. They gave more priority to patients that had private health insurance.
