Amit Mitra as West Bengal finance minister would make a budget statement in the state Assembly
The Speaker of Biman Banerjee and Partha Chatterjee as industry minister had announced to the BA Committee members during the meeting that on Thursday, Mitra would make the statement on the state budget. On Tuesday, officials in the state legislature explained that a motion for demand for grants of all the departments would also be tabled in the House on August 12.
In addition, officials had informed that on August 29, Mitra would also table the finance bill in the state legislature. Then, the budget session of the state legislature, that will start on Wednesday until September 14. During the BA Committee meeting on Tuesday, the opposition leader in the state Assembly and CPIM MLA Surjya Kanta Mishra always raised certain questions.
Mishra told that he wanted to know whether the government would present a full-fledged budget in the House to solve the financial crisis during the current session. However, there was no reply for his question. We are so confused with the governments in solving this financial crisis.
Mamata Banerjee as Chief Minister had already informed that recently, her government had accepted a financial grant for about Rs 9,240 crore from the Centre. Therefore, she had probably declined to term the Centre’s move to sanction the money as a financial package. The Centre had suggested that the state government had to present a full-fledged budget and make ways to generate revenue.
