AWPR effort the improve Mearns travel
At Tuesdays, Kincardine and Mearns Councillors have discussed the state of public transport in the Area Committee meeting. One of the Councillor beliefs that the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route of public transport using would greatly improve in the area.
Councillor Graeme Clark said that a car which across the public transport was not favorable to get in and out of Aberdeen as both forms of transport its need a long time. But the AWPR would do much to alternative for this problem and make public transport a more attractive option.
He explained that the AWPR as a “key” to a number of developments including the Don Crossing and also told the impact of alternative will have in the Mearns area.
“What I believe that it is very crucial if we could got to make public transport so attractive so that people do not using their cars on their own. Instead they will get on a bus or public transport because it is faster. When the AWPR get it so it will cut down congestion.” Clark added.
In 2009, Scottish Ministers by-pass was originally given the go-ahead. Since it being approved, it has delays due to legal objections but on this month development looked back on track as a legal objection was rejected. And, the one of the groups objecting the proposal always threatening to appeal the judges ruling so it causes further delays.
