The doctor failed to ask the patient about the Private Health Insurance 24/11/2011
Doctors failed to ask the patient whether they already have private health insurance, a new survey reports. Four out of 10 General Practitioners do not ask the patient about the patient’s personal health, Spire Health has recommended.
The study which surveyed more than 1,000 physicians, reported that only 30% of physicians believe that patients should be encouraged to seek private health insurance. Many of them do not even want to ask about insurance; only 13% of them will discuss the options that will be needed in person. Nevertheless, 28% of doctors saw there was an increase in the number of patients who ask about private insurance in the last six months.
Dr. Jean-Jacques de Gorter who is the Director of Health Services Clinic Spire, said that the NHS has a condition under increasing pressure to do more with less and are likely drawn to the limitations not only in access to care, but also for longer this waiting. It is fair to patients to enable them to realize all the options available to them for the best. A third of doctors surveyed that they have the hope to create a design focused more private this year alone.
