Perpetrators of insurance fraud will be sentenced to seven years in prison and fined $15,000
Harrisburg – Linda Kelly as Attorney General has announced that criminal charges have been filed to the dentist, Centre County, accused of shipping more than $ 52,000 in false insurance claims. Kelly has identified Dr. Jamshid Assadinia as defendants, 53 of the 1764 Cambridge Drive, State College, Centre County. Dr. Assadinia is the owner and who operates Jamshid Assadinia DDS, 300 South Allen St., State College.
Kelly also said that Assadinia allegedly submit insurance claims for dental procedures he never performed and then he was billed by the insurance company more than $ 52,000 on behalf of different patients. On February 16, 2011, Assadinia have filed insurance claims for the six different insurance companies – Delta Dental, United Concordia, MetLife, Guardian, Cigna and Geha Connection Dental Federal (Geha) – for about 100 procedures had never been done.
According to the criminal complaint, Assadinia has billed insurance companies for procedures such as root canals, crowns, dentures and extractions. The agency also said that the insurer must request reimbursement from Dr. Assadinia more than $ 33,000 for the procedure. Assadinia has been accused doing insurance fraud to be sentenced to seven years in prison and fined $ 15,000. This case will be prosecuted by Dennis A. Kistler as Senior Deputy Attorney General of the Attorney General’s Insurance Fraud Section at the County Center.
