Recall the laon
According to Tony Pua, the PJ Utara MP the senior Ministry of Finance (MOF) officer even explained that the purpose for the each drawdown must be clearly stated. This is very interesting. So how did National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) explain its purpose when the drawing down the loan approved? Did Treasury have checked before dishing out the money? That is why I could say from the very beginning – those in charge of monitoring the NFC and those in charge of loan disbursement must be held in accountable. Tony Pua has quoted a Finance Ministry official that the loan can only be used for the specified purpose of the cow breeding, definitely not for the investments in properties thing. Finance Ministry is senior enough to present the case to Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
Now that the cat is out of the bag, it is the right time to recall the loan in full. It is together with the interest outstanding. No dilly dallying about the loan as the RM250 million is the public funds. The Finance Ministry shall take the lead here without hesitation. Meanwhile, the investigations by Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the independent auditors, etc, can continue to make uncover the full story, from the conception to the approval of the loan.
