Pet Insurance might not be worth it
A report revealed that pet insurance could be a waste of money unless your beloved pooch or moggy had serious health issues. Research showed that the cost of insuring your pet was more expensive than paying a vet bill when treatment was required.
According to the research of ConsumerResearch.org found that insurance was only cheaper when it came to treating serious conditions. The research adjusted on the premium charges of the nine main brands in the pet insurance market. Based on Roxy’s total bills into present-day dollars and compared prices with the nine insurance companies -none of the companies had to pay out more than the premiums.
It was only when they had given the insurance companies a hypothetical, potentially costly list of ailments did they prove to work out cheaper. Roxy’s medical history had been adjusted to include incontinence because of spaying, chronic arthritis, the removal of a benign tumor, hypothyroidism and euthanasia. They had done policies return a positive payout.
When researchers were looking at two real-life cases involving cats with serious and costly health problems, pet insurance also paid off. For example, the cost of cat, which heart surgery and follow-up care, is more than $7,000. Another is a 10-year-old cat with more than $9,000 in cancer-treatment bills. In both cases, they had found that all nine of the policies would save the owner money.
