That States have licensing for mortgage brokers offering mortgage loan modification services?
I try to find out if real estate professionals offered to help homeowners with mortgage modifications thereto, licensed or otherwise regulated by state standards? Do you really want the same free services by the government (as seen on the television news tonight)?.

Nope, they are unregulated, and the majority are scam artists.
Do NOT bother with them. You can call your lender and do your own legwork to get your loan modified. Most of these firms will promise you the moon and charge you a fee up front, only to leave you in the lurch.

They are all scams anyway. Anyone telling you otherwise is trying to con you themselves.
You can do this yourself, just ask your bank for the modification package.
