Increasing health care costs premium
President Obama told us that under his plan, health insurance premiums would be reduced. I think they forgot to tell Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida.
I just received notice that my health insurance premiums are rising for the second time this year. From Obamacare was signed in March 2010, my premiums went up in May and will take place again in December for an increase of more than 10 percent in eight months.
I attended the Halifax Hospital District Tax September 8. I recalled that since the payments for Medicare and Medicaid does not cover the actual cost of care, the hospital is forced to make up the difference by charging private insurance patients with a higher rate. Owners also pay for the care of the indigent through our property taxes. As Obamacare begins to roll more people in Medicaid (and other publicly funded programs) the cost for those of us who is responsible has nowhere to go but up. Obamacare is a disaster, and the cost is just one of many problems. Congress should repeal this mess now! The Florida Legislature has to keep fighting for this law repealed.
