China Will Allow Thailand to keep “Linping” for Two More Years
On Thursday a Thai official said that China will allow Thailand to keep giant panda cub with millions of fans and her own reality television show in the kingdom for two more years. The first giant panda cub to be born in Thailand, Linping, who is one year and 10 months old, her parents will prepare for the next artificial insemination at one of the zoo in the country’s north named Chiang Mai zoo following years.
In May when Linping get her second birthday she also belongs to China and was on an initial two-year loan. China be prepared Linping’s parents on a 10-year loan in 2003. Prasertsak Boontrakulpoontawee Thailand’s panda project said to AFP that Wu Bangguo who is Chinese parliamentary leader said that Linping would be allowed to stay until 2013 when he visiting Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Linping is big animal star in Thailand. A live full day “Panda Channel” follows her everywhere, in 2009 a competition to find her name attracted 22 million entries. In Chinese Linping means “forest of ice”. Her name is based on her mother name Linhui means “beautiful forest”in Chinese and the name of a river in Chiang Mai named Ping River.
