Benjamin Lawsky as the Superintendent of Financial Services said that the new regulations have been issued aimed at implementing the law on insurance business and sophisticated corporate or public entities. “Insurance companies will be exempted from the requirements and filing the consent form when the insurer has issued a policy for qualifying businesses or entities, such as town”, according to new legislation.

Lawsky also explained that the new laws and regulations have increased the ability of insurers to bear the large commercial insured in New York, eliminating bottlenecks in economic development in New York and increase speed to market for certain insurance products. Insurance companies may issue this policy the insured without submitting a rate filing to the Department of Financial Services and Oversight approved the sale of policies with a special exception.

Insurance companies usually have to submit copies of certificates that have previously been filed, within 30 days from the date of birth of the policy. The exception does not apply to workers ‘compensation’, medical malpractice and certain other types such as property / casualty insurance by insurance, which is not exempted by the requirements of the New York Insurance Law or regulations of insurance. Insurance companies should establish a policy for an entity that meets the definition of “large commercial insured to qualify in the use of exceptions.
